About Guglielmo Militello

Guglielmo Militello holds a PhD in theoretical biology applied to cell and evolutionary biology. His research is characterised by a common thread: understanding how functional integration (i.e. the causal interdependence of biological processes) shapes both cancer development and the physiology of biological individuals.

In cancer biology, his research focuses on understanding how the functional integration of metabolic, signalling, and regulatory pathways governs stem cell behaviour and contributes to tumourigenesis. By identifying the mechanisms through which these pathways become dysregulated, his work aims to uncover novel therapeutic opportunities in onco-hematology and immuno-oncology.

In t

In cell and evolutionary biology, he explores how new forms of biological individuals emerge in the evolution of life through changes in the functional integration of organisms.
